All visits are by appointment and must be scheduled 24 hours in advance. Each inmate may receive two 25-minute visits per week, subject to availability and restrictions. Visits can be delayed or canceled for meals, clothing exchange, court, security, required movement, program schedules, or restrictions. A person arrested, bailed out, sentenced, or incarcerated at the facility during the past calendar year generally may not visit another incarcerated person, except for spouse, child, or parent visits allowed by the county rules. Minors must be with a parent or documented legal guardian, and unrelated minors are not allowed.

The county says regular inmate mail must be in postcard form, with the sender's full name and complete return address. Davis County Correctional Facility Booking
Booking begins when a person arrives after arrest, warrant service, court commitment, or transfer. Davis County says the person has an opportunity to contact one person of choice, excluding victims, to advise them of the situation. Property is placed in a secure area, and the person receives jail clothing, bedding, food, water, and hygiene basics. Eyeglasses, contacts, or prescription medications may be brought to the lobby during regular business hours, but medications must be approved by medical staff and most medications are provided in-house.
Medical screening is part of intake. The sheriff FAQ says intake includes a comprehensive medical assessment, and if outside medical clearance is needed, the person must be seen by a provider and cleared before booking. Classification then assigns housing, medical, mental-health, program, and security handling. A roster entry may follow, but Davis County's 15-minute update cycle should not be read as a promise that every custody event appears instantly.

GRAMA is Utah's Government Records Access and Management Act. Davis County's jail history gives the facility a long local thread. The county's first jail stood on courthouse grounds in 1891 with three cells.
